Trip Itinerary

7-Day San Juan Island Adventure

Beginning in Anacortes, your journey will start heading West to the first stop at Rosario Resort. During our stay at Rosario, the pools will be made available and there will be much to see. The history at this resort is absolutely amazing and makes taking a self-guided tour worth every step. In the fall months, deer come down to eat the apples out of the orchard and are friendly.

Day two will take us through Wasp Passage and back South to Fisherman Bay. There is a small town along the shoreline here that is great to explore and spend time perusing. Walking areas are plentiful as well.

It will only be a short trip across San Juan Channel to get to Friday Harbor. One of a few large towns in the San Juan Islands, Friday Harbor still maintains a small town feel and its residents are extremely friendly. Strolling through the shops in Friday Harbor is a favored pastime.

Whale watching en route to Westcott Bay along Mosquito Pass is in our itinerary on day four. The resident pods of Orcas are seen along the shoreline of San Juan Island in Haro Strait quite often. Anchorage in Westcott Bay is ideal and you can do some crabbing while dinner is being prepared.

From Westcott Bay, we will journey north to Prevost Harbor on the Northern side of Stuart Island. This serene little anchorage is home to harbor seals and accesses some of the homes on Stuart Island. While at Stuart, you can hike to the NW corner of the island where the Turn Point Lighthouse sits for amazing views across Boundary Pass to the Canadian Islands.

Our last overnight stay will be spent at anchor in Echo Bay on Sucia Island. This little island is easily to hike and has a state park and several other coves to explore. Sucia is also known for having fossils on it so keep a sharp eye.

Rosario Strait will lead us south back to Anacortes along the Eastern edge of the San Juan Islands. Mount Constitution, the tallest peak on the San Juan Islands will loom over you as we make our way along the shoreline looking for wildlife on the land and in the sea.
