Beginning in Anacortes, your journey will start by heading Northwest to Echo Bay on Sucia Island. This little island is easy to hike and has a state park and several other coves to explore. Sucia is also known for having fossils on it, so keep a sharp eye. You will also crab in Echo Bay in hopes of bringing up some Dungeness crab for the week.
En route to Rosario, we will skirt the shoreline of Orcas Island with Mount Constitution towering overhead. Once at Rosario, you will be able to hike, swim in the pools, tour the resort, or just relax on the yacht. There is much to do at Rosario and you are welcome to do as much or as little as you like.
On day three, we will head for our last stop before leaving the United States…Roche Harbor. Located at the Northern end of San Juan Island, Roche Harbor is an old limestone mining location and private estate. The estate has been turned into a variety of shops, but remnants of the ‘old town’ still exist. Examples of this are the flower garden, brick pavers, and old buildings. Roche Harbor has a great old town feel to it and is well worth walking around.
Your next stop will be Van Isle, BC to check into Canada. After a brief stopover, we will continue down Saanich Inlet to Tod Inlet. We will anchor here for the evening and the following day so that you can immerse yourself in the extraordinary Butchart Gardens.
After a day of walking through the Butchart Gardens, you will have a reprieve from physical strain while we motor north to Ganges. It will take most of the day and you will have all of the following day to investigate what town has to offer. We will anchor between Goat Island and the mainland and tender into town whenever you would like to go. Ganges has many shops and services available and some of the friendliest people we’ve met.
We’ll be departing early in the morning and having breakfast under way while bound for Victoria. This will be one of our longer cruising days and you will be able to do a myriad of things while under way. Upon our arrival in Inner Harbor, we will dock along the Victoria waterfront where street performers work late into the evening for passers by. You will have an entire day to peruse the streets of Victoria. We recommend the Empress Hotel and Parliament as must see stops.
Day ten will be spent motoring back to Anacortes via the Strait of Juan de Fuca. While underway, we will be looking for whales, dolphins, and other marine life to escort us home on this final day.
